My Online Learning Safety Agreement
A short guide for Future Forge learners
Welcome to Future Forge!
Future Forge is a place to ask questions, try ideas, build things, solve problems and create. We also want you to feel safe and comfortable every time you learn with us.
These simple rules help keep everyone safe online.
My 8 Future Forge Safety Rules
I use the correct Future Forge link
I only join sessions using the link my parent/carer or Future Forge gives me. I do not share the link with other people.
I keep personal information private
I do not share my home address, passwords, private phone number or other personal information during a session unless my parent/carer and Future Forge say it is needed.
I keep communication on Future Forge
I do not privately message, follow or add my educator on personal social media. If an educator asks me to move to a private account or secret chat, I tell a trusted adult.
I am respectful
I use kind, respectful language. I do not bully, threaten, embarrass or deliberately upset anyone.
I don't take secret pictures or recordings
I do not screenshot, photograph or record my educator or another learner without permission.
I work safely
I follow the safety instructions for experiments, building and practical challenges. If something feels unsafe, I stop and tell my educator or parent/carer.
I can say when I am uncomfortable
If something online makes me worried, confused, uncomfortable or unsafe, I can say STOP, leave the activity if needed, and tell a trusted adult.
I tell someone
I will tell my parent/carer, Future Forge educator or another trusted adult if I am worried about something. I will not get in trouble for asking for help.
Remember
You never have to keep an unsafe secret.
If anyone asks you to hide messages, meetings, pictures or something that makes you uncomfortable, tell a trusted adult.
Your educator cannot promise to keep a safeguarding worry secret. If they think you or another child may be unsafe, they may need to tell Future Forge's safeguarding team so that someone can help.
If I Need Help
Tell your parent/carer, Future Forge educator or another trusted adult.
If there is an emergency, I should get a trusted adult straight away.
